📖 "He card read good" - This Geek in Review for 2021-11-26

Doing poorly in English in school appears to be big business. Grammarly is now the 10th most valuable US startup. It would seem like a pretty abusive relationship for Grammarly customers, being constantly told how much you suck at writing. I prefer to be told that by the general public, not some piece of software.
1980
Although 1980 could be the worst automotive year ever, for pop culture and geekdom, it was one of the best. Let’s look at some of the awesome things that came into being in 1980:
- Music: Funkytown, Rapper’s Delight, Whip It, Another One Bites the Dust
- TV: Dallas & Magnum, P.I.
- Movies: The Empire Strikes Back, Airplane!, Friday the 13th, The Blues Brothers
For me, it was the videogames released in 1980. Pac-Man, Rally-X, Missile Command, and the Atari 2600 port of Space Invaders. This was also the first year that Activision released third party games for the 2600. For Nintendo fans, the Game & Watch series of videogames was released.
