💰 Modern day Bonnie & Clyde, Madden Football love, Futurama and more - This Geek in Review for 2022-02-18

I’m assuming the competing Hulu and Netflix series are already in production
There was a hack on a Cryptocurrency exchange back in 2016, at the time the Bitcoin was worth about $71 million, but since then the value of Bitcoin has raised the amount to $4.5 billion. Charges have been filed against a couple, and what a couple they are. The modern day Bonnie & Clyde are part writer, part Tk, and part rapper. She wrote for Forbes magazine, but also put out raps.
The story is, when you steal that many bitcoins, it is really hard to launder it. Maybe they should have watched more of Ozark? And also, don’t put out crappy raps on YouTube.
After I started writing this article, Netflix ordered a documentary on the couple. I have foreseen the future!

I hate myself for loving you
The older I get, the more Joan Jett speaks to me. And, she works in mysterious ways because even Madden players understand the phrase. Much like Brokeback Mountain, Madden players sob into their pillows at night muttering, “I can’t quit you…”
This is what happens when you let one company control the entire franchise. Without competition, Madden players can look forward to incremental updates every year, while pay $60 for the pleasure. Is it $60? Or is it more?
As for myself, I’ll go dig out Tecmo Bowl if I want to play video football.
We all miss our loved ones and gasses
Since everyone has been using the professor’s “Good news everyone”, I decided to take a more geeky route. Futurama is coming back with most of the cast. John Dimaggio, who voices Bender, hasn’t signed on yet. He’s wanting more money for the entire voice cast. It makes sense, voice talent is the unsung hero in movies and videogames. Whenever I see an ad for an animated movie and the ad talks about the celebrity voices instead of the movie, I know they are covering for something.

From the What?!? department
Jurassic World was pretty good, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was tolerable, and Jurassic World Domination looks like it’s going to continue the downward slope of quality.
So many questions… Maybe they’ll be covered in the full movie, but I’ve got the feeling that they won’t. We’re expected to not question how dinosaurs have spread across the continents, although the chase in Rome looks pretty cool.
