RIP Dave Smith, synthsizer and MIDI extradonaire
Dave Smith was a revolutionary digital music pioneer, not only by creating the first polyphonic synthesizer, but by also creating and promoting the MIDI (Musical Instrument Digital Interface) standard.
The MIDI standard is still in use today, and it is used by musical instruments from various companies to allow them all to talk to each other.
Beavis and Butt-Head coming to Paramount+ will get me to subscribe
Sure, a Beavis and Butt-head movie has a good chance of being awesome, but would it be good enough to get me to subscribe? Probably not. Remastering the original episodes? That’s getting closer. Remastering the original episodes AND INCLUDING THE ORIGINAL VIDEOS WITH COMMENTARY? Shut up and take my money!
Beavis and Butt-Head was one of the smartest shows on TV in the late 90s, using the more than clueless leads to entertain us in new found ways. The show had a profound influence on pop culture, but it was the video commentary which was my favorite.
I haven’t found anything on whether or not the censored episodes would also be restored. During the show’s run, Beavis would show an enamouration for fire. Unfortunately, this led to a house fire in Ohio. After that, any reference to fire in the show was removed.

Happy 40th Wrath of Khan!
This past weekend marked the 40th anniversary of the greatest Star Trek movie ever released, Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Current Star Trek properties could learn a lot about story telling from this movie.
