When the manager doesn’t know math I win!

Buy one pair and get the second pair for 50% doesn’t work like you think it does Mr. Manager.
I bought jeans
A couple of months ago I bought some jeans. Let me tell you, this aren’t your momma’s jeans. They are so stretchy and comfortable, not anything like the unforgiving jeans I grew up with. I like the jeans so much that I went back a couple of weeks later to pick up another pair. Fortunately for me, they were running a sale!
Buy one pair, get the second pair for 50% off
I was only planning on buying one pair, but I couldn’t turn down a deal. After finding two pairs of jeans that I liked I went up to the counter. There was an issue giving me the discount, so the manager came up to take care of it. One pair of jeans was $50, and the other pair was $40. The register wasn’t letting the work ring up a 50% discount on a single item, so the manager had a work around. Ring up each pair for 25% off. The register allowed the worker to do that, and the manager wouldn’t be bothered so it was win, win. If you do that math, you realize that it as win, win, win.
Final discount
The discount on the items was supposed to be $20. However, since I got the $50 pair for 25%, I saved $12.50 on that pair. On the $40 pair I saved $10, for a grand total saving of $22.50.
Win, win, win!
